It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at the bookdate. This is where you can talk about what you have read, what you are currently reading, and what you are about to read.

This past week was pretty quiet  so far but I did finish quite a few books and got some good news as well. Last week I finally decided to sit down and read all of the books that I had on my currently reading shelf since May and now i think i am finally caught up except for a couple of books that I started at the beginning of June that i haven’t finished yet.

I also know what dorm room I am staying at for college this semester and I plan on going shopping with my aunt on Friday and Saturday to get the things I need. I still have a couple of things that I need to do for school but I think I am all set so far. I’m also going out with a friend this afternoon and we will probably go swimming and maybe do lunch or something like that. I have a couple of weeks before I have to return my library books so I am thinking that this week I will focus on reading some of those hopefully.

What I read last week:

The mark of Athena (#3)  by Rick RIordan:

Audio book:

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at the bookdate. This is where you can talk about what you have read, what you are currently reading, and what you are about to read.

This week was a pretty quiet week as I just stayed at home and caught up on some books that were due back to the library. I did end up finishing all but two books that were later in the month. I also went to the library to pick up some more books that had come in and ended up coming back with 8 books. I still have to pick up one more as it came right after I stopped by the library so i am planning on picking it up on Monday.

This week looks pretty busy as I have some last minute things i have to do before I go to college in August. I also have a lot of phone calls to make this week and I am meeting with a friend for lunch as well. I’m hoping to read a few more books this week but I am not sure how much I will be able to do.

What I read last week:

When we collided by Emery Lord:

I wasn’t really sure about this one at first but I thought it was very good (5 stars).

This one definitely had a lot of action in it and I enjoyed most of the characters. Overall it was pretty good (4.5/5 stars).

Dreams of Gods & Monsters (#3)  by Laini Taylor:

13618440

This one was okay. There were times while reading this one where I could read through it pretty quickly and then there were other times where it was also a little slow. I am glad that I read it though (3.5/5 stars).

Noblesse: Season 1, Set  by Son Jae Ho:

13556014

I thought this one was interesting at first but for some reason it took me a while to finish. I may continue the series later though (4 stars).

Talon (#1)  by Julie Kagawa:

234619891

This one was a little slow at first for me put it did pick once I got into it. I had mixed feelings about it at first but I did end up really enjoying it and can’t wait to pick up Rogue (5 stars).

226429711

I decided that for July I wanted to get caught up on some books that I hadn’t read in a while so I decided to pick this one up again after reading a few chapters and then not getting back to it so I decided to read it over the weekend. I’ve made a lot more progress than I thought  I would and it is definitely interesting. I should be able to finish it pretty soon hopefully.

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is hosted by Kathryn at the bookdate. This is where you can talk about what you have read, what you are currently reading and what you are about to read.

This week was pretty busy as I had orientation last week and i went to my Grandparents house and stayed until Wednesday. I didn’t have any Internet where my grandparents are staying so whenever I went to a place that had Wi Fi I would add books that I read and checked my emails. I am back home now though and have been catching up on some anime that I have been looking forward to watching and reading.

Books I read last week.

I will be adding books that I read the week before as well since I missed last week’s update.

Of Triton (#2)  by Anna Banks:

15513156

This one didn’t take me very long to read although I just thought it was ok. I am looking forward to seeing how this trilogy ends although I am not sure if I will be able to get the last book at my library. I am hoping to read it either in December, when I am on Christmas break or sometime next year hopefully. (4 stars).

Always and forever, Lara Jean (#3)  by Jenny Han:

303128601

I was very surprised that I was able to get this one for June as I wasn’t expecting it until July but I am glad I read as it helped finish a trilogy and it also worked for a few challenges that I have been trying to finish on Goodreads as well (4 stars).

A torch against the night (#2)  by Sabaa Tahir:

25558608

This one took me a while to get to but it was probably one of my favorite books of June so far (4.5/5 stars).

The Son of Neptune (#2)  by Rick Riordan:

9520360

This one was a little better than the first one but it was still ok. I plan on listening to the third book in this series though.

I thought this one was pretty good although it did take me a lot longer than I thought it would though.

June Wrap-up/July TBR

This month was another good reading month for me although I didn’t read quite as much as I did for May. I did finish quite a few trilogies and one long series that I have been working on for a long time so i am very excited about that. I also still have about 3 or 4 trilogies that i need to finish so I have gotten a little behind in reading but not much.

For July I plan on only getting about 10 books from the library hopefully and catching up on my currently reading shelf and getting caught up on my Goodreads reading challenge which I am still about 10 books behind schedule. I will probably get behind again as i start school in August but I am hoping to spend July finishing a few challenges and catching up on a few series that I have been reading.

16150831 13556014 33027974

My first book out of this list to finish is In the Afterlight and I am hoping to read it this weekend so I can take it back to the library.

June:

13618440 23253083 14290364 95778571 30312700 23901077 27235365 157419281 11563110 32075671

Most of these books I didn’t start until closer to the end of the month so I am hoping to read them next week and see how many I can read before I go to the library.

July TBR:

This is a tentative list as I don’t have all of the books that I plan on reading yet and I probably won’t get them until the end of the week depending on how many books i can read from my currently reading shelf. Since I will be going to college in August I plan on getting around 10 books or less from the library and 5 ebooks.

Library books I plan on getting:

118089501 7775824 14061955 108666241 13581990 23846013 13597723 25111004 17255435 3047851

So this is what I have planned for July. I am not sure if I will be able to read all of these but I am hoping to read as much as possible before August.

I will be linking up on Kathryn’s blog, the bookdate for the monthly review.

My TBR list for June 22-28, 2017:

This week I will be visiting my grandparents and I probably won’t be able to get on the Internet until I get back or when I am in town so I won’t be able to do any updates until I get back but I wanted to post my TBR list for the week before I leave.

Here is what I have read so far:

15513156

This one was ok. It was fast paced at first and we learn a lot of information but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I am thinking about getting the last book though. (4 stars).

303128601

I have just started this one and am hoping to finish it tonight but I am not sure how much reading I will do.

What I plan on bringing with me:

I am not sure if I will be able to read all of these books while I am away but I am hoping to finish at least a couple of them.

I also won’t be able to any of my regular posts on Monday and Tuesday but I will post some things when I get back. I should also have my monthly Wrap-up/TBR list up by the end of the week as well.

So this is what I have planned for next week. I am probably taking more books than I will read but I am hoping to finish at least 2 maybe 3 books and make some progress with A storm of swords.

I hope you have a great week!

Marybeth
